Day 28th I Was Glad When They Said Let's Go To Church

Today’s Scripture Reading: “Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked. [11] For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless. [12] O Lord Almighty, blessed is the man who trusts in you.” Psalm 84:10-12 (NIV)

Psalm 84 is one of the best descriptions of a Devotional Psalm. Psalm 84 talks about devoting ourselves to God in three different ways.
First, Psalm 84 talks about Devoting Yourself to Be in the Presence of God. The Psalm begins, "How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young--a place near your altar, O Lord Almighty, my King and my God."
The Psalmist is devoting himself to be in the presence of God. He wants to be in God's presence. He has committed himself to come into the presence of God. He has a Longing to Be With God. He wants nothing else, but to come into the presence of God and worship him. Psalm 42:1-2 says, "As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God."
How many of you are like that? How many of you want nothing else, than to be in God's presence worshipping him?
