| Jesus told His disciples that they had not asked anything in His name before, but now they should ask everything in His name so that they would receive God. When we walk close to God and pray in Jesus' name, we too will see great power unleashed through us and amazing answers to our prayers. 24 Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete. 25 "Though I have been speaking figuratively, a time is coming when I will no longer use this kind of language but will tell you plainly about my Father. 26 In that day you will ask in my name. I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf. The greatest source of power is the name of Jesus. 1. Praying in Jesus' name affirms your dependence upon who Jesus is and what He has achieved through the cross 2. Fasting and praying being your body into submission by informing it that it is not in charge If you are facing what seem like insurmountable or impossible obstacles and you need more power in your prayers, don't just try to survive the battle when you can win the war through fasting & prayer. |
